Is cracking your fingers bad or good for the joints?!

Question: There are no studies or medical research to suggest that cracking knuckles will harm your joints. It's an old wives tale!

Cracking your knuckles is the same as having your back cracked. The cracking sound is a release of gas between the joints, and is it totally normal, and won't harm you in any way.

Crack away! :)

It makes the joints weaker and can make risks for artheritis in the future. Better just not to do it.

Not sure but my doctor did tell me that its a myth that it will lead to artheritis.

i advise you to stop dont blame you if you dont ive tried and i cant stop doing it, cracking your fingers will cause them to be cricket over time and you will have weak bones when you get older.

well i personally think it is really annoying and yeah if you do it alot if will cause arthritis and if your joints are in really good condition they should not crack

cracking your fingers is caused by pockets of gas being compressed and then released between the bones of your joints. It is a myth that cracking your knuckles will cause arthritis. It doesn't involve your tendons or your bones(unless you try to hard to crack) so it has no ill effects on either. The only effect it has is to make your joints more flexible because you are flexing them more often. Some people may consider it rude but who cares what other people think. The worst that can happen is that your fingers or joints may crack more easily causing them to occasionally crack when you don't want them to.

bad because you have joint liquid in between your joints and when you crack your knuckles you lose a little bit of the juice, which could make you have arthritis or a disease called stone joints so it is bad for you
