Open-eyed sleeping is called lagophthalmos. Usually in lagophthalmos only one eye remains open during sleep. There is some evidence that open-eyed sleeping can be a family characteristic. Specific causes of lagophthalmos include:
Alcohol intoxication
The use of hypnotic drugs
Damage the facial nerves which control the eyelid.
Scarring of the eyelids
Metabolic disorders such as thyroid dysfunction (Lyons and McNab, 1990).
Know why we close our eyes during sleep.
Most humans and animals close their eyes during sleep. The reasons are not fully understood, but two important factors include:
To avoid distracting sensory stimuli (lights, noises, etc.) can interfere with your ability to fall and stay asleep, closing your eyes blocks out almost all visual stimulus.
Closing your eyelids protects your eyes from drying out, and from being damaged by foreign objects.
Know why some animals sleep with one eye open. Some birds and aquatic mammals have been shown to sleep with their eyes open. In all probability this is an evolved defense mechanism in response to the environment and nothing to do with the same thing in humans. Interestingly animals that sleep with one eye open actually do sleep with one half of their brain while the other half is still awake. Humans do not have this ability.
Be aware of the dangers of eye-open sleeping Most people and children who sleep with one or both eyes open do so only for a short time, probably as a symptom of extreme sleep loss. However, in some cases open-eyed sleeping can cause or indicate a far more serious condition. Symptoms and causes of eye-open sleeping are described here:
The most common problem is waking with such dry eyes it can feel like you have no slept at all. Visine? or other such products can aid on a temporary basis. The danger of drying eyes is that the cornea could be permanently damaged.
Often our own bodies fight this dryness with "Bell's phenomenon", in which the eyes turn up when we sleep leaving only the white of the eye exposed.
Somnambulism is the barely understood but fairly common phenomenon of sleepwalking. Here a person may function in a variety of ways, including having wide open eyes and using them, but whose brain waves (as measured by an electrocardiogram) indicate the individual is fully asleep. If you or a loved one suffers somnambulism consult a sleep specialist.
Bilateral facial weakness is a form of muscular dystrophy called facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy and refers to a weakness of the muscles and nerves that control the eyelid, the orbicularis oculi muscles. Children who have droopy eyelids (ptosis) may sleep with their eyes partly open because of the weakness in the upper eyelid. This can happen from severe lack of sleep, or trying to sleep with your eyes open. Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy can be treated in several ways:
Eyes held closed by pads.
Sewing the upper and lower eyelids together in a procedure known as a tarsorrhaphy. Usually reserved for only the most severe cases.

If these are any links I move a lot snore talk laugh and sing in my sleep it could just be an active sleeper thing.

It's no big deal just something some people do.
