Patient Harassment?!

I'm a nurse who used to work in the emergency room. There are those nurses who just don't give a rip, there are those who think that you're crazy and therefore the low of society, there are those that are just plain overwhelmed with the work load and can't be patient to deal with the issue properly, there are those who are tired of the patients that are there every other day who refuse the help offered etc. and they take it out on other patients with mental health problems, I for one gave a crap when I worked in the ER, I have a brother who attempted suicide and suffer from depression myself AND have a bipolar child, I have had co workers actually ask me why I went out of my way so much to help the psych. patients. on the other hand, I have had a few psych patients accuse me of harassing them-which I never did- because their preception was way off due to the psych issue at the time. bottom line... nurses are people too, no excuse for not being treated properly.. I've always said if you're a jerk, you're a jerk, no matter who you are or what you do!
suicide is for quitters, they don't want any quitters!
they're not supposed to harass anyone. Are they being mean? They should be fired for being mean to someone who needs help on so many levels.
They may not actually be being mean. In the emergency room, everyone has to be quick and eficient. The nurses have to respond to the doctors commands very quickly, and may generally be under alot of stress. but I don't know what your talking about. All the nurses I know would be more sympathetic to patient of that nature, or so I think.
