I feel like i need to swallow constantly?!

Question: its like when you get to the end of a cold, you know? its like something is touching my throat at the very top of my throat so when i swallow it doesn't quite catch it.

its so frustrating and uncomfortable (not painful or sore, just irritating) its keeping me awake at night!

i get the same thing..have you got any allergies or sinus problems?...i think it's catarrh

there is a really small butterfly shaped flap in your throat. sometimes if it's swollen it will make you feel like you need to swallow more. i would just drink warm fluids till it stops doing that.

--- might be your eppiglottis or tonsils

drink a lot of water to flush it away.

and your question is?

It could be OCD

I do that sometimes too - the trick is to not go to bed until you are really tired, but have caffine and all of that, so when you get in bed you just fall to sleep without time to think about swallowing.

Keep yourself hydrated. Try doing some "humming". It helps vibrate your nostrils and focus the mind. See a doctor if the problem persists.

go to your gp there is a syndrome for this my mum is having the same problem see a specialist its all connected to the brain eyes ear mouth you need to see gp to get you referred and get you sorted. my mum terrified to swallow and because ot this she has lost weight and i will advise you once again visit gp

snap.. also have it.
