What was your reaction to first seeing a cadaver?!

Question: Note: a cadaver is a dead body used in med school.

Answers: Note: a cadaver is a dead body used in med school.

Humbled, knowing that someone thought enough of the medical profession to donate their body to the education of future physicians and that you can cause death if you don't take your job seriously.

I have never seen one but I am interested in the responses of those who have

I saw the body exhibit in oklahoma city but those cadavers were all preserved and everything so there was no blood or anything but it was pretty cool. i was amazed i can wait to get to med school. it was incredibly insane. they cut the cadavers in vertical then horizontal slices so you could see inside...crazy. but awesome

The first time, I felt very uneasy to be in a room with 8 dead bodies. When we started dissecting our cadaver, I felt a bit queasy. You get used to it really fast though, and eventually we were hanging out in the cadaver room talking to each other after our lab ours.

different people react differently. some faint some don't sleep or eat or drink. My first reaction was sleepless nights and later on i got used to it.

i haven't, nor do i expect to, even tho i'm in a med program (well, trying to get into radiography program)

but when we first started disectiing in a&p, i didn't get grossed out like i thought i would...i even cut the eyeball myself.
