It cant hurt. Most women are technically anaemic due to their periods and low iron intake with food, but they never experience any symptoms of anaemia.

If you experience, dizziness, fatigue, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, clamminess etc then it's probably best you take iron supplements. If you feel fine then you dont have to, but it's probably better for you to do so.

The more the better, it doesn't sound like your getting much in your diet so i would get some.

You should get a blood ferritin, iron and TIBC test first. If you don't need an iron supplement, taking one might do you more harm than good. Children have died from overdosing on iron!

Most people do not get enough iron. It can't hurt to take the recommended daily dose.

If you are anemic there is no telling how severe you have it and it's a good idea to get your Dr involved to see where your levels are at. Good luck! :)
