How do you make your nose stop running?!

Question: when your sick?

Answers: when your sick?

Take it's running shoes away.

blow your nose then use vaporub

take medicine and constantly blow it!!! seriously!!

Take Benadryl or another antihistamine. It will dry you up nicely.

When you are sick take a antihistamine. When you are not sick it usually allergies that make your nose run. Try an allergy medicine like claritin. It works great. If you have a cold try a cold medicine that has ingredients in it for a runny nose.. Hope you feel better.

Afrin works GREAT, it clears you up within a couple of minutes and lasts most of the day. Don't use it for more than a few days in a row though.

tkae med's and get better then it'll dry up itself

Stop chasing it, tell it in a firm but loving voice "No running in the house" and you may need to give it a time out if it doesn't listen....

Oh, wait a minute, wrong answer.....

Antihistamines and tissue is about the only thing. Zycad (zinc lozenges) help in keeping a cold from getting worse but work better when you use them in the early stage of a cold. According to the box, zinc ions (from the lozenge) attaches to the cold virus and keeps it from spreading. I've used them before and they seem to help if you take them early.

Good luck......

Unfortunately, there's no straightforward answer to this one...you should experiment with different medicines and find out which one works for you. Most commercial "real" decongestants all contain the same ingredient, phenylephrenine. You can check the box for actual amounts.

Many people say, though, that phenylephrenine does not work as well as the original decongestant, pseudoephedrine. This was discontinued because it is a derivative of methamphetamine (crystal meth), and could, conceivably, be converted into such, although you would need large quantities of the medicine to do so effectively.

You can still obtain the original decongestant, but you can't pick it up from the shelf any more; you need to ask the pharmacist for some, and would need to put your name on a list because legally they can only sell you a certain amount over a certain period.

If you don't like the traditional OTC commercial drugs, you can try homeopathic remedies like Airborne or Wellness Formula...some people report good results from them, others don't, but they can't hurt.

If it's really bad to the point where none of the OTC drugs or working, you can ask your doctor for a prescription of Entex, which is quite a powerful nose-drying agent and works very well (at least for me), but you need to be careful because you can't have any caffeine while you're on it (no coffee, tea, cola, or chocolate!)

If none of the above are feasible, the only option is to wait it out and just stuff kleenex up your nose periodically if it gets too annoying...I've had to do that many times, and I find rolls of toilet paper very useful for the purpose...when I have a cold, I need to use about a roll a day.
