What is wrong with my daughter? part 3?!

Question: dentist this past year. Sometimes we get a 'block' when we are studying. She knows the answer, ie 1+1=2 but she gets mad and diggs her fingers into her arm, makes a bad face and shakes a bit, and says she cant do it. I dont like when she has this reaction, she cries if she gets a wrong answer some times. Like I said before, sometimes, sometimes not. I sit here with tears coming down because (I am probably menstral at the moment) I dont know where to look for help. I just want to get a test if possible and take it from there without the long drugout system of medical centers. I have read books, watched dvd's and taken th online tests for autism, aspergers, and a few other disorders and she does not have any of the symptoms but for the loud noises (like myself). Can you give me any direction?

Its possible that she has dyslexia (she flips letters and words when she reads), and that's why she has problems studying.

It's also possible that she has a very mild autistic spectrum disorder, and you have to go to a doctor to have those tests done (online tests will not do it).

It could simply be an anxiety problem (my 9 year old brother has anxiety problems...they sent him through the autistic spectrum disorders). If it is anxiety, they could put her on tranquilizers (yes, I know, I don't believe in over-medicating children, either), or they might suggest you work with her on stress management issues. Tell her that a wrong answer does not make her a bad person and doesn't make you love her any less (I had problems with school anxiety when I was younger).

The best way to diagnose your daughter is to take her to a doctor. Online tests and stuff just can't do it, sorry.

I wish you and your daughter the best, and I hope I helped a little.

i'm not saying your a bad mom, but maybe your stressing her out a bit. try calming down, and maybe she will.

see the pic with the pencil on it? use that to ADD DETAILS not ask new questoins

we don't know everything of this

I think the only thing wrong with her is that she has an overprotective mom that makes her freak out when she makes a mistake because she fears your judgement. Why are you home schooling? Maybe she needs more interaction with kids her age. Not everyone is the same. Kids today are so over-medicated because we are trying to make them all into well behaved zombies, one just like the other. Just accept her for who she is, and for Christ's sake, let her out of the house!

now that I have read all of your questions you need to take her to a doctor. Never mind trying to diagnose her your self. The smart thing for your daughter would be a doctor you are not doing her any favors by not taking her.
