While it is true that tea has less caffiene than coffee, it contains other, similar substances such as theophylline and aminophylline. These chemicals, called methylxanthines (the category includes caffeine), have similar effects to caffeine.
Remember, also, that a bottle of Arizona is larger than most cups of coffee. Even if tea has half the methyxanthines of coffee, drinking 16 ounces of tea gets you more of these chemicals than 7 ounces of coffee.

It's an urban myth. Coffee has twice as much caffeine - however, if the can of tea is twice as big then they would have the same. (Canned tea is really weak anyway).
