Panic or anxiety attacks?!

Question: Alright, So Im 16 and I have been getting chest pains right below my heart for quiet sometime now. When I was younger like 9 years old I would just hold my breath and wait a second but now they are getting alot worse. Today during one of my classes it hit me and I couldn't take deep breaths or even laugh. That lasted about 15 or 20 minutes I believe. I also had this problem yesterday during soccer while we were running. I am a generally busy girl and do alot. I am 5'9" and weight very little, under 100 lbs. I have no eating disorders or anything like that. Im a healthy person but I still dont understand why I have been getting these chest pains for such a long time. I'm not really that stressed though.
So what im asking is, do you think this is Anxiety or Panic attacks? And how can I prevent these from happening.
Btw, when I do get these I concentrate on my breathing but it takes a while for them to go away.

Yes it could possibly have been a panic attack but could also possibly be caused by stress. If it begins to happen frequently you should definitely consult a doctor.

Here's a great word repetition technique that I learned that helps me to quickly 'snap out' of my panic attacks:

I simply repeat the words 'cream cake' over and over in my head as quickly as I can without stopping. You could use any word you like really but that's the one I chose (because I like cream cakes). It apparently works because it doesn't give your brain time to process the panicky thoughts and so helps you to relax again. Seems strange I know ... but it works for me!

There's also a free ebook that I found really useful called 'Get Rid of Panic and Anxiety for Good'. If you want to take a look you can find it at: http://curepanicattacks.premiergold.info... Even though I got it for free it has helped me absolutely loads!

Doesn't sound like a panic attack to me. Panic attacks are literally a surge of adrenaline like you've had the fright of your life. I have felt similar chest pains from time to time that prevent me from drawing a deep breath. They never amounted to anything. Why not see your doctor for a check up and get reassurance?

Sweetie, since it's chest pains go see your doc ASAP!!! If it turns out it's nothing serious, it may be anxiety. (But they usually include feeling scared physically - heart racing, pulse beating fast, sometimes sweating, sometimes chills....all the symptoms you'd have if you were about to run away from immenent death!)
Once the doc eliminates anything serious, you can see what triggers the pains, shortness of breath etc, and work on alleviating it. Go see your doc first and good luck to you

when i was around 16, 17 i use to get chest pains to for strange odd reasons, but i don't have them now. Not too sure why i had them, i never bothered to go to the doc and check why it was happening. Im guessing it was because i use to eat a lot of mcdies and unhealthy food but i can't be really sure.

You say you are not stressed, and eating healthy so i don't have a clue why you are experiencing these things.

i would definitely go to the doc and get it checked out.
