My friend has a runny and very painful left nostril and runny left eye - what is!

Sounds like a left maxillary sinus infection.This sinus is in the cheekbone and commonly gets infected.Your friend should see a medical problem as these things can get really ugly,especially if your friend has diabetes,does drugs,etc Antibiotics will help but he needs an accurate diagnosis first.Good luck to your friend!
probably a sinus infection, what color is the runny nose? and your eye only drains badly when there is an infection. he needs to go to the doctor....
It sounds like a sinus infection brought on by allergies. Tell him to take Benedryl or Claratin to see if the watery eyes and runny nose stops. The sore nostril will heal up after you get the histamines to settle down. If that doesn't help he should see a doctor.
