Am I doing this right?!

Question: I've always ate healthy but I decided to switch it to eating the 5 small meals a day, I was wondering if my portions are too large, if I'm consuming to many calories... etc. I am also 17 years old female if that matters.

Meal 1, oatmeal with ground flax seeds and skim milk, 1 small orange, small serving of fat free cottage cheese

Meal 2, 1 cup of spinach with 1 package of tuna

Meal 3, Hemp fiber/protein powder drink mix, mixed with water, 1 piece of whole grain bread extra protein kind with smart balance omega 3 spread, 1 egg [the kind with omega 3's in it]

Meal 4 I medium carrot sliced, 4 thin slices of turkey with mustard and 1 cup of fat free Greek style yogurt with cinnamon

Meal 5, 1 small sweet potato and small apple

I drank very large glasses of water through out the day and of course exercised... Am I doing this right or did I eat WAYYYY to much? I spread this out by eating every 3 hours

THanks.

thats is really good. you are eating good balanced meals, exspecially if you are trying to lose weight i would stick to it.

sounds perfect.:)

You don't need the protein supplement. You are getting enough calories. It might be too much, but it might be good. You are getting enough protein already and your body only uses 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight for amino acid/protein synthesis. Any more after that is stored as fat.
Oatmeal, milk, cottage cheese, tuna, the egg, the bread, turkey, and yogurt, all have protein.

Meal 1 looks good
Meal 2 looks good. you might want to add tomatoes or red, orange, or yellow peppers for variation in color and texture.

meal 3 is good if you take out the protein powder. The egg has enough protein, and you don't always have to have high protein bread.

Meal 4 looks good
5 looks ok too.
