For getting your tonsils removed, do you have to take out certain piercings?!

Question: Yeah, i only want professional answers. I need to know if my lip and tongue ring will have to come out, because I can't do that. I'd have to go buy clear retainers for the both of them. The piercings are far too young to be left out for an extended period of time.

Every piercing has to come out, sadly. I've had to go through this before with several different operations. I have 7 piercings myself. I felt completely naked by having to do this, but it's truly for your own safety. The Dr's don't want to take the chance they could accidental knock into one and it end up somewhere it shouldn't. Also, if they are made of metal, and god forbid you should go into heart failure and they had to shock you back, it could electrocute you, them, or worse.

yes all this has to come out cause l had my tonsils out to

Yes, you would have to take them out.

yes, anything thats any type of metal. i was ok because I have gauged ears and they let me keep glass plugs in, but they made me remove my conch piercing which closed up that day :(

yes they will most likely need to come out. the doctors will have instruments and their hands in your mouth and piercings would get in the way and could make things non sterile.

YOu need to take out all metal piercings. You might be able to put in plastic ones. Ask your dr. about it.

they'll definitely want any facial or mouth piercings out. if you're not getting x-rays, no others should matter. call ahead and ask them about it - the anesthesiologist (sp?) may need to know.

yes, any time you have surgery all jewelry come out and off because if they have to perform and emergency procedures there is no obstruction.

As most doctors require all jewelry to be removed for surgery. They should be allowed to be placed back in with in 12-24 hours provind no complications.

You should really just ask your doctor he/she should know what they want. Every doctor is different some wouldnt care some might. its really but to you but they may want them out for health cleaness reasons.

yeah they will. You will be put to sleep and if something was to go wrong with the anesthesia and you crashed they would have to shock you with a defibulator the metat would cause burns. They always make you take any metal off. (Nurse for 6 years.) Good Luck.

Sorry, you're going to have to take out ALL piercings. No jewelry allowed. You may just have to suck it up and get them pierced again. Your health is more important than your piercings.
