New flu going around?!

Question: I woke up yesterday with awful pain in my stomach. My 14-year-old daughter has the same thing, but hubby is unaffected. We've all eaten exactly the same foods.

My daughter and I can eat, but the pain gets worse. She's felt nauseous a couple of times but hasn't thrown up. I threw up once. Mostly it's just pain and it gets worse if we eat. We aren't feverish, but are very tired. Is this some new kind of flu bug? Has anyone else heard of it? We're in Michigan.

we are in ohio and me and my kids had the same thing it last about a week.

Lots of flu this year 'cause the vaccine didn't work well.

Lots of weird flu-like symptoms going around, tending to last a while also, unfortunately. I work in a doctors office though and out of the dozes of patients we see in 1 day with these symptoms out of the past 3 months we've onlyl had about 2 people test positive for the actual flu. Just push fluids, and you can call and ask your doctor for an rx Tamiflu that'll help with the symptoms in the meantime. All this stuff going around is nasty and I'm sure you dont' want to deal with it for long.. hope you feel better!!

YES, i just got over the new strain of flu virus.it's
called the super flu,and with me it took over 16
days to get over it completely.IT'S spreading fast even in Canada and the UK.Some get sick wile others in the same family are OK.

I am not a medical person. However, as I understand it, the "flu" is prevalent this season. However, you and your daughter sound like you have something else.

The "flu" (influenza, for which we get the flu shot) does not include the symptoms that you describe. It sounds like something else that is also making its rounds in the Indianapolis area, as well. A day or two of stomach pain, fever, upset stomach, and bowel problems, then it goes away. We've all had it around here! Your husband will get it, too, unless he is SO lucky!

yea there must be a flu cuz i got it once!

Here is some interesting info that I was privy to;
The flue virus originates from Central Asia and is initially spread by migrating ducks to other animals who pass it on to humans by sneezing or simply by coming in to contact with humans.
The virus spreads very quickly nowadays because humans travel all over the Globe at astounding speeds, spreading the virus from one Continent to the other....
Flue viruses change identification often, even from one person to the next the "blueprint" changes, making it almost impossible for any vaccine to work properly....
