Try to tell yourself that you're ok, that the feeling will pass. Try to build up your self-confidence, by doing things you know you can succeed at. Surround yourself by positive people. Keep a paper bag around if you're prone to not being able to breathe properly during panic attacks....if you breathe into it, it does help.

take a real deep breath and exhale slowly

My mom gets panic attacks. You breathe in and out, and there is pills for panic attacks.

I also suffer from panic attacks, i find that chewing on something helps. (weird i know)
Like bubble gum, or a straw.

I understand that exercising (even mild exercise, like stretches) when you start to experience the panic helps redirect the mind.

If, as I understand, panic attacks are one symptom of a low blood sugar condition, then knowing what/when to eat may prevent them from happening in the first place.
