Swollen lymph node under left arm?!

Question: Im really sore in my left armpit. My right armpit lymph node gets sore frequently but it isnt right now. it was maybe a week ago but it only lasted about 3 or 4 days. I dont ever recall having the node on my left arm get swollen and sore...is it something to worry about? and i dont know if this has anything to do with it...but i have one on the back of my neck on the left side that has been hard and tender for a few years now. never has went down. i told one of my doctors about that one but he didnt seem very concerned so i just havent mentioned it again. the ones on my armpits arent big and hard like the one on my neck. if you know anything about this please let me know if its something to worry about or not. THANKS!

If the swollen lymph nodes occur only when you have an illness or infection then you don't have much to worry about. But from what you described this sounds more chronic; in that case you should see your doctor. You know your body better than anyone else so if something concerns you, your doctor should not give you the brush off. If he does, its time to find another doctor that takes your health and well being as seriously as you do.
