What is the best amount of time to sleep for a nap?!

Question: I'm tired and don't feel good at the moment. I want to take a nap.. but I don't want to be even worse when I wake up. How long would you suggest?

Twenty minutes of actual sleep time is the best! What you need to figure is how long it takes you to fall asleep.

It has been scientifically proved that if you have someone monitor your sleeping, wake you up after you have slept for 20 min. and did this three times, that you would receive the benefit of 8hrs. of sleep. Your best sleep is during your first 20 min., which equates to 2.667 hrs. of rest.

Another finding is that when you find yourself dreaming, you have usually had enough rest. I use this to motivate me to get up on days off.

2 hrs

3 hours

One hour or less. Any longer and you'll wake up more tired.

2 or 3hrs,tops...

I would suggest about 5 hours because that will ease your mind. I've tried it and it works.

Think of this as "A power nap" around 10mins ideal.
will refresh you.

30 minutes

1 or 2 hours. believe me... any longer than that and you'll be totally dizzy and possibly even more tired.

I was tired and not feeling good, took a nap and woke up feeling worse! Turns out I have that flu that's resistant to meds and the vaccine. I developed strep so it sucks. If you're tired, sleep as much as you want and as much as your body needs!

I think a nap should be an intervalled process, sleep thirty minutes wake up if your still tired, maybe boost it to an hour, or go for another 30 minutes... the only flaw with this, is that when you get used to waking up and going back to sleep you essentially began sleeping the whole day away and also your more likely to wake up and go straight back to bed in the mornings when you do have something important to do.... LIKE GOTO SCHOOL>... crap gotta go...
