You may suffer from hypokalemia. S/Sx are anorexia (loss of appetite), nausea and vomiting, muscle weakness, change in kidney function, dysrhythmias (irregular heart beats), decrease in peristalsis (movement of foods inside the digestive organs). It may be due to severe vomiting, diarrhea, gastrointestinal content loss, ileostomy (a surgical operation in which an opening is made through the abdominal wall into the ileum, so that waste can be discharged out of the body without passing through the colon)

A shortage of potassium can cause a potentially fatal condition known as hypokalemia. Symptoms of hypokalemia include weakness, lack of energy

Lack of potassium can make you very tired..Some ppl get cramped muscles...It could lead to fainting..Irregular heart beat..Cause you to need to urinate alot...Even nausea and vomiting....it can cause you to feel very confused.

Hypokalemia is a metabolic imbalance characterized by extremely low potassium levels in the blood. It is a symptom of another disease or condition, or a side effect of diuretic drugs. The body needs potassium for the contraction of muscles (including the heart), and for the functioning of many complicated proteins (enzymes). Potassium is found primarily in the skeletal muscle and bone, and participates with sodium to contribute to the normal flow of body fluids between the cells in the body. The normal concentration of potassium in the body is regulated by the kidneys through the excretion of urine. When the kidneys are functioning normally, the amount of potassium in the diet is sufficient for use by the body and the excess is usually excreted through urine and sweat. Body chemicals and hormones such as aldosterone also regulate potassium balance. Secretion of the hormone insulin, which is normally stimulated by food, prevents a temporary diet-induced Hypokalemia by increasing cell absorption of potassium. When Hypokalemia occurs, there is an imbalance resulting from a dysfunction in this normal process, or the rapid loss of urine or sweat without replacement of sufficient potassium.

you become very weak and could develop the following:
leukaemia
magnesium deficiency
kidney disorders, including failure
malnutrition

the best way to avoid it, is to eat a banana, as they are full of potassium alongside many other good things for your body, i swear by them!

the 2 most prominent are heart palpitaitons and leg cramps. if you don't feel like you're getting enough, eat bananas and strawberries, or colard/mustard greens. potassium levels can chage greatly based on several things like insulin release, exercise (sweating it out), diet, fasting, alcoholism, excessive diarrhea or vomitting, menstrual cycles, etc. you can read a lot on it on webmd.com. it's called hypokalemia and can be very dangerous.

That is very serious. You need to see a doctor asap
