Normal not to have bowel movements on diet?!

Question: I've been on Weight Watchers for 2 months now and I have a bowel movement only like once a week. Is this normal?

I have heard from people that a basic rule of thumb is that your body functions on a food in, food out basis. As you eat, you should also, well... If you are going only once a week I would say not very good, but maybe not ultimately bad. How much are you eating? In what way are you intaking the fiber? Do you drink enough water? If you are concerned, and I think you are correct in being concerned, I would get to a doctor ASAP. You may need to go see a gastrologist and get a colonoscopy. It is always better to go see a doctor and have him say no big deal that to not go to the doctor mand have a major problem.

absolutely not, the number of times you eat in day should reflect the number of times you should dhave a bowel movement... refer to colon cleansing diets

seems like your not getting enough fiber in your diet. Contact weight watchers and see what they suggest.

contact someone at WW...that is really unhealthy to have them only once a week. You probably need more fiber. Eat whole wheat and broccoli....anything with fiber. You can also try fiberone or similar products

eating too much dairy can really plug you up so you want to cut back on that quite a bit

Eat a variety of high fiber foods and drink lots of water you should also try some flax seed oil pills and flax seeds
