I really want a cig?!


Question: I have not had a cig in damn near a year and a half. All of a sudden I have a craving like no ones business the past 2 or 3 days. Why? Is it so bad if I smoke every now and then?

Something is setting off a trigger...are you doing some kind of activity that you havent done since you stopped smoking?

Doing my spring cleaning set off a trigger for me.. odd I know, but it did.. once I realized what the trigger was I could just power through it and move on.

Smoking is an addiction.. so if you smoke every now and then you'll go right back to where you were before you quit

if you smoked before, you know that having one now will just escalate into full time smoking. Don't go there.

I feel your pain. In my opinion, it's not that bad to have one every now and then, but some people just totally fall off the wagon. I', capable of actually buying a pack and going through is slowly over a couple of weeks, but my husband can't, if he had a pack he would suck the whole thing down in a day! I think that if you think you can stop at one, go ahead and treat yourself (I'm going to get so many thumbs down from the health nuts, but I don't care).

That isn't unusual, especially if you smoked for a long period of time.

Those desires are triggered by something, like stress, depressions, worry. Is something changing in your life?

I smoked for 17 years and haven't had one in over a year. I believe once a smoker always a smoker. My uncle quit 20 years ago and still craves one every now and then.

You may think you can have just one from time to time but chances of you sliding back in to a full time routine is very high.

It could be a chemical deficiency. Go for a walk, or start taking vitamins to make it go away. B-12 is good for that....please please dont think you can get away with one or two here and there. You have not done it for year and half...keep up the good work

Your level of stress is probably up more than usual. I suggest warm tea and lots of exercise (to get rid of the pent up tension so you won't crave the cigarettes).

To me smoking is for foolish, ignorant people. There are many people in the world who smoke, you should try to be smarter than them and stay away. Do anything to stay away from an addiction. There are some many bad things about smoking that people just don't know about, like I said, their ignorant. If you get an addiction, you'll waste money everyday for cigerettes. The people around you will get 2nd-hand smoke which is much worse than just smoking. You'll have a much higher chance of lung cancer when you grow old. You may or may not care about it now but if you smoke now you WILL regret it in the future.
