could be, but could also be an allergy to something you are eating commonly.

you need to check on the allergy possibility since it might close your airway if it got bad enough.

some people feel more mucus in their throats after milk or milk products, but research hasn't been able to tell what is happening.

I don't think so, acid reflux is more the acid is squirting back up your esophagus causing discomfort.
It sounds like you just need to drink plenty of water after you eat to flush the food into your stomach.

i get the same thing sometimes, after a large glass of water it normally clears up.

Sounds like it - I was diagnosed with acid reflux because after I eat I cough a lot because of the mucus. Pepcid AC sometimes works. Go to a Doctor and be examined to see if you have it too... It can be dangerous to self diagnose, so see a specialist yourself.
I notice that if I eat a huge meal, I have the problem worse than if I do not overeat. Just a thought .

Hi. Not sure if its acid reflux. With this, sometimes you will feel a burning pain/sensation in the middle of your chest/upper abdomen or what they call heartburn. At times, you can feel acid in your throat due to the food being pushed up back in the throat.

You can find lots of information about GERD or acid reflux on the net; just google the term and some sites can adequately explain the symptoms of reflux.

And if your symptoms don't improve, do see a doctor for a proper diagnosis. Good luck!

Acid reflex causes a acidic burning in the throat or esophagus. It is usually caused by a hiatel hernia which is an ulcer in the esophagus. Mucus is not usually a symptom of this. You should see your doctor. If the mucus is yellowish or green, it may just be post nasal drip...although I don't understand why you would be coughing it up after a meal.

I was just diagnosed yesterday w/ acid reflux, if you are belching too try some Zantac or Prilosec- the stomach acid coming up can eat your esophagus and cause cancer. See a doctor- they put a tube down my nostril down into my esophagus and saw the inflammation-not a great feeling.

Try to not eat spicy and high acid foods to see if it makes a difference.
