Treating dehydration?!
Question: This sounds like a strange question, so forgive me. Is it true that fluids/medicines can be absorbed through the large intestine via enema?
My dog has parvo, and has been at the vet's office 3 days for meds/ fluids. They can do no more right now, but "wait and see" if she makes it. I keep going back for more fluids.
On the web, I saw an article that said if the dog is vomiting, use an enema of 15cc per hour to get fluids into her along with the antibiotics from the vet.
Is this true?
