When someone is in a close area with CO2?!

Question: and they are dying, does it hurt? What is the deal with this way of death?

Answers: and they are dying, does it hurt? What is the deal with this way of death?

For many they usually go to sleep which is the body reducing demands for energy and resources as it combats the CO2 levels. Unfortunately after you start to go to sleep heavily the body automatically starts to shutdown organs as no oxygen to continue functions.

For some there will be discomfort and some minor pain but normally little. It is poisoning of the body thru the lungs as no oxygen to keep functions on going. CO2 being a by product of the body is not therefore a foreign substance like a normal poison is so the body reacts to it differently. So instead of hyper activity in the cells you get the opposite due to oxygen deprivation. Other poisons cause the body to go to hyper activity (causes feeling of euphoria, like what magic mushrooms do, their a poison) and fight the invading substance. CO2 is the nice way to die slowly and reduced pain and feelings.

What normally happens to a person in high CO2 environment is they start to lose brain processes. Followed very quickly by loss of motor functions as the body has oxygen deprivation so reduce capabilities to function. SO the body shutsdown. Once asleep organ shutdown will follow causing death. Timing depends on CO2 levels and other gasses in the air being breathed in.

Do you mean they're suffocating? I don't think it would hurt, but for me it would be a much more psychological death. It's one thing to be hurting and dying, but another when you can't get what your body needs.

I think you're referring to CO....Carbon Monoxide. CO poisoning causes death because it binds competitively to red blood cells and takes up the space oxygen would normally bind to. Therefore, the body is suffocated of oxygen at the cellular level.

It is an odorless, colorless gas. No, no pain associated with it. It starts with dizziness, possibly nausea and weakness. The person will eventually fall asleep and not awaken.
