Does drinking water help a hangover?!

Question: or make it worse? I cant even keep the water down...

Answers: or make it worse? I cant even keep the water down...

Alcohol generally causes a loss of electrolytes in the body. this can be easily solved by drinking Isotonic sports drinks, such as lucozade, powerade etc...
Water will help to rehydrate the body, but I find a bottle of lucozade in conjunction with water works a lot better.

you need to drink water, it re-highdrates your brain.
achole takes water out of you brain, causeing it to swell. thats y u get a hangova, so you need to drink water to put the water back.
If you cnt keep it down, just take little sips.

I don't think water works for me. I normally drink loadsa tea and it works wonders! :)

once you have the hangover it doesnt help as much. What you need to do is constantly keep yourself hydrated while drinking and after. Drink things like water/gatoraide and poweraide which are made to hydrate atheletes who lose alot through perspiration. I very rarely have bad hangovers when I remember to drink these things the night of getting drunk. Also make sure youre not drinking on a completely empty stomach, or if you do to get drunk quicker at least eat something afterwards.

YES! While you are drinking alcohol you should actually drink a glass of water; for every one drink of alcohol=one glass of water. You will pee a lot more but it will help keep you hydrated and prevent a hangover. Hydration is the key, and will also prevent the next day headache and cotton mouth. I don't miss those feelings! lol Keep drinking water...the more the better!

it will help rehydrate yourself but if you can't keep it down it wont help. my advice for hangovers:
-right before you go out for a night of partying take liquid centrum (it is the liquid form of the multivitamin) use as directed on the back.
-if you forget to take the liquid centrum, when you wake up feeling like poo then take it, it should take effect in about 20 to 30 minutes.
-along with either of these tips, drink gatorade.
these will help with the headache and the tiredness, as far as stomach issues are concerned it all depends on your body
the multivitamin is to replenish the vitamins that got dehydrated from your body from alcohol. that is what a hangover is: dehyrdration of vitamins, water, electrolytes.
the gatorade is to replenish the electrolytes

emergen-c also works instead of a multivitamin (but thats basically what it is) you can get it at drugstores as well as like walmart. it is a packet in the pharmacy section to mix with water to drink if you are ill

Try drinking beer that has a lower volume of alcohol, that way you get more water and your less likely to have a hangover the day after. It does cost you more money though if you're aiming to get drunk...

Drink a pint of milk an hour and a half before you go out. It may look a bit silly to order a pint of water from the bar while everyone else is drinking, and generally if you're not drinking more than 2-3 pints of beer water isnt essential. If it is a heavy session sneak away for a bit and ask the bartender for water, then drink slowly and consistently, and don't touch your beer for another 15mins after you have returned for the best effect. Always take a pint of water before you go to sleep as well, and keep some water by your bed just in case you wake up with a dry mouth.

No you should never Drink water, for a hangover... it only makes it worse, also stay away from all Caffeine, Drink lots of Juices, like O J- V8- eat Ice, to take the place of water...
Feel better...

You have do drink it before you pass out.

It will rehydrate your system.

It works like a miracle. The more you drink the better.

(water that is... lol)

Drinking water helps to re-hydrate you!! I have heard that drinking a beer will help a hangover but I have never tried it because when I am hungover I usually swear off alcohol!! For me the best thing are some advil/tylenol/aspirin and A LOT of sleep!!

If I take a dose of advil before I start drinking or while I am drinking I NEVER have a hangover!!
