Can cold medicines that u take show up in drug tests?!

Question: so i went on a job interview and they sent me to do a drug test. that was almost 2 weeks ago and i hadnt heard anything. so i called them last week and asked about it and theyre like o i dont know, so and so will be in tomorrow and we will call u tomorrow but i never got a call. so i started thinking, i had a really nasty cold around the time of my interview, i took some cold med. and i was wondering if that showed up in the drug test? maybe they think i'm a druggie or somethin? i'm paranoid now..am i overreacting? does it show up? do they just not want to hire me? i'm stuck....

Those meds will show up in a drug test, but it usually isn't what they are looking for unless u took something with phenilephrine(sp?) which is the base for meth, but also used for sinus conjestion. U may need to call and find out for sure and request a new drug screen. I hope this helps.

Any drug in your system will show up. And, yes, sounds like they are avoiding hiring you.
Sorry.

you should go down there and show them the meds you were taking and explain the situation

ask for another drug test aswell to show them that your not a druggie

Years ago, Sudafed (Pseudoephedrine) used to show up positive in drug tests as Amphetamines, but I'm pretty sure the tests are more sophisticated then that these days.

They're must be some other reason you haven't been contacted yet.
