What happened to my mum?!

Question: Hi

On Saturday night, my mum was out at a pub. She says she cant remember anything before she collapesed and hit her head on the floor. She went to hospital and after being unconcious obviously cannot remember much. She cant remember much since my dad left her about 9:00pm. People say she was acting really stupid, kissing people etc. She is on anti-depressants and was drinking wine. She doesnt remember having much wine. She just thinks she was drunk but her ring was missing when she came round. Me and my grandma think she had it spiked and then stolen. I know its to late for tests etc but can we do anything if it was spiked. DO you also think it was spiked?

Thansk alot

It depends what medicine she's on. That medicine could have acted the same way as someone spiking her drink. As a rule drugs and alcohol should never be mixed. Phone your doctor and ask if these effects could have been brought on by her antidepressents mixing with the alcohol and then you'll know whether it was her own fault or if she may have been spiked. Also ask the bar she was in if they remember how much they served her. and also it may not be too late for tests as most drugs stay in the system a while.

If her medications have not changed and she has never had this kind of reaction with wine before, then it is possible that her drink was tampered with.

She should go to the doctor today. Some of those drugs are still detectable even several days later. She should also file a police report about her ring, and the injuries she incurred with the fall, just in case she was a victim.

Best of luck.

It sounds like she drank too much, or someone could've put something in her drink. Theres' no way you could prove who might have drugged her though.

One of the effects of GHB, the "Date Rape Drug" is amnesia

Is it possible she took the anti-depressants, then drank wine afterwards? Taking medication and drinking alcohol can bring on drunkenness much easier than drinking alcohol alone
