Low blood pressure and dehyration causing light headed ness?!

Question: I generally have a lower blood pressure. Its not to critical point though, I'm just one of those people according to my doctor and she said its normal.

However, I came in to work this morning and 30 minutes into it. I suddenly started feeling light headed. This happens to me at times and I dont know why.

So I ate some oatmeal and drank lots of water to help it. It would go away once I do this. What do you think happened?

Did my blood pressure drop below normal since it was early and before breakfast? Can dehydration cause light headedness? Should I worry? Do you ever go through this?

My doctor seems to think nothing is wrong, I got blood test done last week and it all came abck positive.

Sounds more like your blood sugar. It drops during the night, hence the reason why its important to eat breakfast in the morning. Maybe because you hadn't eaten breakfast, your blood sugar was low which can make you feel dizzy or light headed. I don't think you'd be dehydrated. Try eating breakfast before you go to work.

It could be your blood pressure, but i think its more likely to be the above. Did it happen when you stood up? If so it could be postural hypotension which means your BP drops when you go from lying / sitting to standing. If thats the case, take your time when standing up to allow your BP to stabilise.
