Does an irregular sleep pattern have any health effects?!
Question: every weekend or holidays i have off, i will go to bed between 3AM-5AM and then wake up between 11AM-1AM, does sleeping like this pose any effects on my health?
thanks

I'm too lazy to cite it, but I know that studies have shown in the past decade that irregular sleeping patterns have negative health effects such as weight gain, mood swings, fatigue and irritability over time. I think there was even one of those "increases your risk of cancer" studies. Honestly though, I take all that with a grain of salt. I have never had a regular sleeping pattern in my 18 years of living, and when I say I'm irregular, I mean every other day I won't sleep or will sleep 13+ hours or wake up at 5:00AM to sleep at 10:00PM that night or wake up at 3:00PM to sleep at 6:00AM the next morning. And that hasn't affected me at all, other than maybe a little bit on my social life. :P
