Is drawing at night bad for your eyes ?!

Question: Well I was bored one night and I was talking to my friend and said I was gonna draw something. Then he said that drawing at night is bad for your eyes. I said no it's not, and that using the computer at night is worse for your eyes than drawing. He then said that no it's not as bad for your eyes as drawing is because you concentrate more when you are drawing. I didn't feel like arguing at the time.

But is this true ?

Hi there......absolutely no time is better than another for doing anything with your eyes...........as long as you have enough light.
Using the computer may be worse only in that we have a tendency to sit in front of it in the dark. Just as you shouldn't watch TV in total darkness, so you should not watch a computer screen in the dark. And we are very close to that bright screen sometimes for hours. Bad, bad, bad for the eyes over time.

Once in a while is ok.

Do your art, computer, read, anything at all at night as long as you are not straining your eyes to see (they do not water, itch, or feel irritated), and as long as you have a nice bright light.

Have fun drawing!!! You may be world famous someday!!

I am an RN

well, if you are drawing in complete darkness, you're eyes squint a lot. So, ya

As long as you have good lighting, it is fine.

its all about how much your eyes have to work. if their squinting to see the drawing then its pretty bad but if youre looking at a screen for hours in darkness thats really bad to. try them both and see which one irritates your eyes more

it is not that bad, i heard that many artists work better at night than in the day. you might want a little bit of light, because if there is none, u will end up squinting...and then you could get used to it and just start squinting when you talk or read, u don't want that.
