Try some new shoes and not forget to strech

stretch before AND after. not alot of people stress stretching afterward but its very important.

Try stretching, really really good before you walk, if you still have the pains I would go see a Doc. Good luck

Maybe try wearing a splint next time. It could make it a lot more comfortable to walk and you would last a lot longer without pain.

try wrapping it with one of those bandages, that seems to help.

stretching also works well.

it seems like your getting a muscle cramp, due to lactic buildup, that happens if you overwork your muscles and you dont have enough oxygen going to your muscles. Try walking a little slower, or sitting down at some intervals.

it could just be a bad case of cramps. happens to everyone. just remember to stretch before and after, and eat lots of bananas or take magnesium supplements.

There could be a number of reasons for that. It could be flat feet, worn-out shoes, shoes that are too small, shoes without enough support. Get some new shoes, go to the doctor, and you should be fine. Also, they have inserts that you can put in your shoes that make walking easier on your legs and back. I have some (flat feet) and they hurt at first, but work wonders.

Also, as the others said, stretch before and after.
Stretching helps a lot.

well the reason it hurts is because you probably havent done this for a while. you should stretch a little before you start even if youre just going to walk for a little bit, stretch. trust me i was that same person trying to get in shape, and it hurts because youre getting used to it. you will get used to it because it will start to become a normal routine. hope the stretching helps!

you are just out of shape your leg is not use to that much physical use it will eventually go away and yes always stretch

Just take a break from running for three days or so and then start running again. It'll still hurt but not as much. Just keep resting and running until the pain goes away and trust me it will. I used to have the worst shin and ankle pain, and it was a nightmare. Now it's gone. I think the cause of your pain is weak muscles, so the more you rest your muscles and work them out the stronger they'll get. Good luck.

It sounds like shin splints. A bone fragment may be loose in your shin, causing it to poke at your skin form the inside. It's like having a hangnail. I had those for a little while. I stopped the excess walking for a few weeks and it went away. Severe cases need wrapping. It can be simple wrapping like saran wrap or ace bandages during excessive walk modes.

If it persists even while you don't overexert yourself (during a rest period) and gets excrutiatingly painful, go to an ER for a diagnosis (no payment ACTUALLY required) then, research homeopathic remedies.

I hope I helped!

I think what you have is called chin splinters or splints. Ovbiously stretch alot before and after walking but also take a break if it hurts that bad. Take a few nights off walking but keep stretching to loosen your muscles. Also icy hot works great, you can get it at walmart or any local drugstore. It will take alot of pain away as well as simple IB Profren for pain relief. Also try godogling chin splints or splinters and see what you come up with! and drink lots of water to keep your muscles hydrated.

sounds like the impact from walking is causing the pain. do your shoes have good sole for shock absorbtion. They pain is usually cause from the impact of of the walk . once you stop walking the pain goes away because the irritation is no there, the pain going up the ankle and shin is due to the way the bones connect in your foot and they way the shock of walking is distributed. try using some cushioned shoes and take some anti anflammatory med to relieve the pain

Well in my opinion thats what you get for not doing exercise in a long time. Like me, this year I joined the soccer team, and I have to run 2 miles every morning. Before I joint the soccer team, I didn't try to run or walk at all, so after the first week of soccer me legs felt like they are gonna fall off, and the pain kept bothering for 2 more weeks. After that things got better and yea...

take a break from jogging and try walking instead, see how the pain is then, if it still occurs, ice your shin for 20 minuted every hour for about 2 days, then try or jog or a walk, if it still hurts, see your doctor.

t sounds like you are experiencing shinsplints. This is a very painful injury caused by inflammmation of the tibial and toe extensor muscles as a result of repeated minimal traumas, such as running on a hard surface. You would first want to check with your health care professional for a diagnosis.
A combination of stretching and strengthening exercises may help to control your symptoms. Icing your shins for approximately ten minutes on a daily basis may help to control the pain as well. This particular topic has been covered by the Athletic Training expert panel under shinsplints. The experts have outlined a basic stretching and strengthening routine which may help you. I hope this information will be helpful to you

Yes, it's important to stretch a lot before & after working out.

It sounds like you may have shin splints. You may notice pain on the inside of your leg by your ankle to lower part of leg. It is caused by tibial ligaments/connective tissue perhaps breaking away from the bone. You might have some swelling.

At first pain will stop when you stop exercising, but may become continuous.

It will often happen to people when they 1st start a running routine.

Rest...put leg up above level of heart.
Ice area to reduce pain & swelling.
Take Advil or Aleve to reduce pain.
Make sure you are not wearing worn footwear & that you have proper footwear for exercise you are doing.
Try putting arch supports in your shoes.
Practice cross training to alleviate shin pain.

If you are still feeling pain, don't return to exercising too quickly because you can further damage your shin.
If you have fallen arches which makes your foot turn in that can cause shin splints or make them worse.

Do toe raises 10 reps...then add weights. Do some leg strengthening exercises.

If you go to MD, they will take a medical history & perhaps an x-ray to make sure you have no splinter fractures.
Otherwise, they will suggest above to you.

Hope you feel better.
