Would you call this an eating disorder?!

Question: I eat food. Sometimes I eat too much and take laxatives to get rid of it faster and so I feel skinnier and in hopes of losing weight. I've been doing this for about 6 months now. Is this an eating disorder or just a bad habit?

no it used to be a bad habit, but now that it's been going on for 6 months, its safe to say that its an eating disorder.

I would consider this an eating disorder and suggest some help....

I think it's an eating disorder.

that's definitely bulimia, sorry hun get help

it is a eating disorder I'm afraid

eating disorder (bulimia) and it doesn't matter how much you weigh you can be bulimic.
by the way pretty much everyone with an eating disorder thinks they're fat.

Yes this is an eating disorder. Fat people are bulimic cause they eat a lot and then hack it up or in your case laxtate there self

Taking laxatives, is in fact, a form of an eating disorder.

Basically, if you want to lose, weight, do it right! Eat healthy and exercise!

Taking laxatives is no different than throwing up your food!

Eat correct portions! It's okay to splurge every once in a while, but keep it to a limit! Good luck!

If you really think it's a problem, talk to somebody you trust ( no it doesn't have to be a parent).

I GUESS SOME PEOPLE MIGHT SAY YES YOU DO. BUT I THINK IT JUST DEPENDS ON HOW YOU VIEW YOURSELF. I DO THAT SOMETIMES AND I'M ALWAYS TRYING SOME NEW DIET PILL AND I SOMETIMES EAT MORE THAN I SHOULD AND TAKE A LAX TO HELP .I DON'T THINK I HAVE AN EATTING DISORDER. BUT I DON'T DO IT EVERYDAY. IF YOUR TAKING LAXATIVES EVERYDAY THEN YES THATS BAD. JUST EAT MORE FIBER AND LOVE YOURSELF :)

Yes, it's an eating disorder. You're not puking it out, but you're pooping out your food. You could be doing irreparable damage to your bowels by doing this, not to mention causing yourself some nutritional deficiencies. Please get some counseling to stop this behavior, it can make you extremely ill.

Oh, honey, I feel for you.
I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through.
But yes, I do agree with everyone else, this is a form of bulimia, and you should seek help.
In addition to a psychotherapist for your eating disoder, see a nutrtionist, they're really helpful for weight loss (or in my case, gain)
I saw one, and she just made everything seem really easy and I got to my goal weight with minimal stress and anxiety.
I hope all goes well for you,
You can email me if you ever need to talk
Good luck! <3
