Why do my arms and legs hurt after a coughing fit?!
Question: One of the worst things about being sick to me is that after a coughing fit, I get shooting pains in my arms and legs. I'm curious as to why, and haven't been able to find a reason through a search engine.
Is this common? Does anybody know why this happens?

You're tightening ALL of your muscles in an attempt to cope with the coughing fit. It would be ridiculous of me to even suggest that you try to relax. When these fits started you didn't likely have the pains and as they subside so will the pains.
