Answers: what do u tell them or say to them........cant they smell their own breath ??

Well, one time, this man at my company, oh man did he have the nastiest breath I have ever smelled in my life.....nobody wanted to talk to him. So one day someone left him a big bottle of Scope on his desk.....It worked. No more bad breath.

Offer mints and gum--ALWAYS...some people....don't floss...or brush for that matter....so some don't care. Make the situation easier on yourself and always have some type of freshener available. Or...you can ask the obvious--"What is that stench/smell/putrid odor...!?!!?"etc. If you aren't close enough with them (in terms of camaraderie) to ask about their breath and if they may have looked in to using some type of mouth wash, or being checked-up for gingivitis or periodontal disease...then...just safeguard yourself [as aforementioned] or stay at a distance!

I wonder sometimes.

i think its tough to smell your own breath. i deal with it

Apparently they cant. Just offer them a mint and they should get the hint.. I know I would.

Depending on how well I know this person, I usually tell them. I'm like psst...come here, your breath is horrible, thought I'd give you the heads up dude LOL. OR if I hate the person, I'll be like, go brush your teeth dog breath haha.

If they check their own smell, yes. But most of them do not. So, you can offer him or her a TICTAC or something like that. I think he/she will understand the message.

lol I never know what to do in that situation.. there have been times I have offered gum only to be turned down.. I'd like to know what to say then! =p

Shove a tuna or a carp into their mouth.

Maybe ask them if they had coffee recently and if they ask why, say bc you can kinda smell that. Or say something like.. "I usually get bad breath too after coffee" or something so it's not insulting. It's good to know about that kinda stuff bc it can help you in the future! So do the person the favor of possibly hurting them for like 1 minute and saving them for a lifetime possibly.

Have some gum, or minty/cinnamony candy and casually offer them some.

No, they can't smell their own breath. I agree, give them a mint or something. Maybe they'll figure it out if you do it often enough.

just take gum out in front of them and i guarantee they wil want some. if they dont ask for any. ask them if they want a piece as u put one in ur mouth.

Don't say anything they might not be able to help it, sometimes it's medical. Just back up and pop a piece of gum and ask if they want one.

i try to avoid those situations, i never had it in me to tell them in fear of hurting their feelings

Well honestly, I would just hold my breath and try very hard not to inhale! So as not to be rude.. BETTER SAVE MY BREATH! I'm gonna need it..

RUN!!!

If its someone you don't know too well or don't see often just offer them gum. If its a close friend or someone you work close to on a regular basis, pull them to one side and tell them discreetly...
That their breaths kicking like Jackie Chan!!!!!
Guaranteed not to fail.

No, they can't. Usually you cant smell your own breath because you've gotten used to its scent, or it's just not reaching your nose. I've talked to people whose breath smells like they had just consumed dog poop on a summer day and I do them a favor and just tell them straight out that their breath smells like rotted brussels sprouts but they always say they've brushed.

I heard it might be some sort of disorder having bad breath, but a tip for everyone whos struggling with it is use mouthwash and brush everyday. A mint or some gum wouldn't kill.

They cant smell their own breath in the same way that people get used to a smell if they work in a chicken slaughter house. Just offer em some gum. If it's your lover tell her that her breath smells today.

someone i know had this problem - i swear he didn't brush his teeth, he was a bit of a slob eww the horrible smell test - to lazy to wash.

anyway, i just said in a nicer way - here have a piece of gum i can smell you breath from here ( he & i were in the back of the car, in closed in a small area eew it was yuk). he took the gum and it was much better.

i knew this person though, otherwise i would of just offered the gum and not said anything - might embarrass them or make them angry.

don't be mean.. some foods cause bad breath.. not the food itself, but the acidity of it can make breath bad.. so if, say a person drinks a lot of pop but uses some mouth wash.. the pop doesn't have some bad flavor to get away..the persons mouth is still going to have that acidy smell to it. Drinking a tiny bit of milk helps neutralize it.

Don't assume that the person never brushes teeth, etc...
But mints work best for a quick fix........
I think people are more likely to be able to taste that their breath smells bad than actually smell their own breath.

one of my friends always smells like a waste dump. wanting to be nice at first i started chewing gum all the time and always offered her a piece. ( sugar free works best btw. ) but after awhile she stopped taking it and i countered that with not getting that close to her personal space. after a bad make out session with a guy who had the guts to tell her she had the worst breath he'd ever known, i told her it was true. moral of the story is... tell them. it'd be nice if it wasn't in public though in front of everyone at the time.

people usually do not that they have bad breath right under their nose. it is their time to rely on the honesty, kindness and concern of friend or someone close to them.

they say that to be a friend is to be one. i think that it is best that you tell your best friend ahead of time so as embarrassment. tell your best friend in private and in a tactful manner, saying your concern about her health that might be indicated by bad breath. you can also accompany her to the dentist to seek professional help.
