Feeling in chest, like near miss accident?!

Question: I started having these feelings when I was weaning off Topomax a few months ago, before long they went away. I thought they were related to that, but the last couple of days I've been having that same feeling. I have tremors and they get much worse when this happens. Usually it lasts 4-8 hours, sometimes better, sometimes worse, but always present to some degree. Usually the only thing that helps is muscle relaxers and my med that helps me stop shaking. But it doesn't get rid of it entirely.

The best way I can describe it is that it's like the feeling you get right after you almost get in an accident. That fluttery tingly feeling in the chest. It's very distracting when I'm trying to work.

The only thing I've found similar is anxiety/panic attacks. I'm a very calm, happy person. But I am busy and have a very stressful career, so I can't rule it out entirely.

Curious, anyone else get this feeling, and what is it? Going to doc soon, will ask then, but for now...???

Sounds like heart palpatations, I had this reaction while weaning off medication as well, it even woke me up during the night. It's bothersome, and a little scary. If your worried call your Doc to ask him what you should do.

Sounds like panic attacks. For some reason your body is sending you squirts of adrenaline which cause those feelings. Have you got thyroid problems as this can sometimes cause feelings similar to panic attacks.

be sure and see your doc. but sounds like anxiety. if you ever get short of breath and breath rapidly---get a paper sack and breath in and out in it.

SEE A DOCTOR... Don't rely on amateur medical advice....Your health is too important.

I get similar symptoms from food and perfume sensitivities. Butalbital usually helps. Sudafed (original) hepls with perfume.

Another possibility is heart arrhythmia. Check your pulse during a reaction. If it is steady, it probably is not arrhythmia.
