warm water up in the microwave for 1min put 1teaspoon of salt in it. now gargle with it each gargle lasting 20sec. do this about every hr. it takes just 5mins.

drink hot tea with black pepper, honey and fresh ginger. if you don't like black pepper and ginger just try it with honey. not just black pepper . YES black pepper. its known to be the best healer for throat. stay away from fried, spicy and oily foods the entire day of the performance. Drink hot soup all day it works like a charm.

do your vocal warm ups but avoid long conversations. no whispering at all. this really damages the vocal cords.

have a piece of hard candy in your mouth all day. this helps sooth your throat from irritants you get from just breathing and talking.

you can also inhale hot steam. warm up water on stove, take it off the stove then done put a towel on your head, but just take a deep breath in and out then lift your towel and breath a bit outside and then back. this'll open up your nasal passages and will also warm and open your vocal coards.

hope it helps

Avoid extremely hot or cold drinks. Dont overdo your warmup.

Break a leg!

Warm coffee helps me and so does one clove in the mouth - just to be sucked and not to swallow).
Good luck with your performance!

The shower helps because the humid air in there soothes the vocal cords. You should also avoid all cold drinks and drink only warm or hot water or tea. Honey and lemon added to this tea or water are very good at soothing your vocal cords too. If your cords feel especially raw, try swallowing a teaspoon of honey to coat them.

Drink plenty of water your vocal chords need to be hydrated like everything else. and stay away from anything with caffeine. Also avoid water that is ice cold right before showtime.

Stay away from dairy products! They can produce congestion. It's subtle. That means everything....milk, cheese, cream, everything. Also be sure to eat a low-acidic supper before the performance. Remember to eat and drink foods that are mild and won't upset the stomach. Good luck!

Avoid caffine especially SODA. You dont want to burp (thats happened to me at a singing solo competition;; not good). Orange juice helps to coat your throat. My singing teacher says try a spoonfull of honey because it makes your voice loud but soft, but i never had tried that yet. Also drink plenty of water (from water bottles unless your sink water is purified). Also stay away from dairy. For dinner i would suggest pasta. Get some rest too. Hope it helps :] Good Luck too :)!<3
