Does an enema cause abdominal pains/burning?!

Question: Because some laxatives that Ive taken in the past hurt like a motha @%!$...so i was just wondering if this will be painful.

Laxatives generally make me feel extreme cramping and burning in the bum..will this do the same?

I'm actually quite scared to take it, but I know I must...
Also, are the fluid enemas better than the syringe?

An enema should not cause abdominal pain or burning. You may feel some pressure which is normal along with the urge to void your bowels which is also normal. Other than the discomfort of just putting something up you butt there should be no real pain involved. All enemas are fluid so I'm not sure what you mean. Any kind will give you the same results and should not be any worse than the other.

It sounds like you might have a medical problem that requires a physician's attention.

One should never use any of those products on a regular basis or with any kind of frequency without the okay of a doctor. Use of laxatives has what is called a rebound effect where your body loses its natural ability to regulate bowel movements and becomes dependent upon laxatives.

The fact that you have cramping is not terribly alarming, but reflects the rather violent action of the drug you induced. The burning is a concern as it could be a number of things, some more serious than others.

Before you go to an enema, try a glycerin suppository. They're very gentle and very effective. If you are having feelings that you need to move your bowels but cannot, that is symptomatic of certain medical conditions. It could also be symptomatic of dietary habits.

You can add a tablespoon or two of ground flax seeds to a small glass of juice, stir it well then gulp it down before it settles. It doesn't taste bad, but should have the desired effect.

If you must use a fluid laxative, if you have any tendency to retain water, be sure to get the one without sodium. If you can't tell from reading the package, ask the pharmacist. Most come prepackaged, ready to use & you should not need any equipment or syringe.

I hope you will talk to a doctor, check your dietary habits & if you are sedentary, add at least 30 minutes of brisk exercise, three times a week, to your life. More exercise would be better, but 30 minutes, 3 times/week is the minimum.

Please never use laxatives, etc., for weight loss - it can be fatal.

Good luck. Wishing you good health.

The fluid enemas w/sodium cause a bloated feeling.

no

It shuld not give pain or burning.

You might feel fuller for a little while, then it should bring the poo out. Then, you will feel so much relief!
