Natural ways to feel better when you have a cold?!

Question: I don't want to pump myself with pills or mixture, it's not THAT bad it's just a mild cold, it's sort of all in my face (nose, eyes, forehead, throat) it all feels a bit puffy and swollen and achey. Any natural ways to bring relief? Anything from eating something to rubbing something to having a bath... whatever feels good =D

Good old-fashioned home remedies are best -- plenty of Vitamin C (orange juice is best), chicken soup, lots of rest, lots of liquids, etc. Taking a hot bath or shower will help with the aches and pains and may give you some relief with your sinus/throat trouble. One good way to get rid of a sore throat is to gargle with warm salt water four times a day.

P.S.: My best friend's mother, who is a Registered Nurse, swears by taking Echinacea and Goldenseal every day during cold season to prevent a cold. Doesn't help once you have one, but she says she doesn't get sick when she takes E&G on a regular basis.

I really like epsom salt baths, and vitamin c drops.
Both make me feel better if I have a cold.

Hot tea with honey and lemon; a toddy they call it.

Drink lots of liquids like OJ or Apple Juice, flush the cold out.

Homade chicken soup. Actually theres something in the chicken bones when you boil them to get stock, thay helps colds. Good Luck. Hope u feel better.

I HAVA COLD TOO , AND LIKE YOU I PREFER TO NOT USE MEDS SO I TAKE STEAMY SHOWERS TO CLEAR NASAL PASSAGES . LITE CANDLES TO NEUTRALIZE THE AIR , ALTHOUGH I DONT KNOW IF THAT REALLY HELPS BUT THE MAIN THING IS BLOW YOUR NOSE AND SPIT ANYTHING THAT COMES UP OUT ! DRINK OJ SLEEP IF YOU CAN .HOT COCOA ,CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP ,GREEN TEA WITH LEMON KEY WORD VITAMIN C . COLD WET RAG ON YOUR FACE .
