Question: Is that normal??
I was never born a stutterer. Now I'm worried I think there might be something wrong with my speech. It's really minor. STarted 2 months ago.

it comes and goes a lot too.

wait, so english is your second language? if that were the case then that is totally normal. it's my 3rd language and it's only been about 13 years that i've been living here in the US. although i don't have an accent, i do find myself stuttering sometimes. i trip over the words decision all the time and get his/her, he/she a lot. haha...don't worry about it. you'll be okay.

i think it depends. i am american and my husband is vietnamese just for a point of reference. i have dealt with and even taught briefly many people that are ESL. if you never stuttered before, there could be several causes. i am not a doctor, just a mom, but i saw on the news recently about it. are you new to english? if so, are you nervous about your ability in front of native english speakers? if so, it could be a performance anxiety kind of thing. also, the sounds that we learn to say in our native tongue are different. especially english and chinese. your mouth may have to adjust to the new sounds. i know that sounds kind of funny, but, it's true. after the age of 5, our brains have filtered out most of the sounds in the human language that we don't use. therefore, we never learn to pronounce them. later in life, if we try to learn another language, we literally, sometimes have to teach our mouths the way to do it.
if you are really worried about it, perhaps there is a local place that teaches ESL that you can talk to a professional that deals with lots of languages that might be able to give you some insight. if not, maybe your doctor? if you have one. if that isn't helpful, there are lots of websites on stuttering and the causes/therapies. you can probably even find them in chinese as there are LOTS of chinese people here. i have been able to find vietnamese websites in vietnamese; i am sure there are chinese. well, hope this helps some. in closing, relax, be yourself, and welcome (that is to say if you are an immigrant; if not, glad you are here) ( :)
ps. you are not alone. check out this website. it lists countries that have stutterers.http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/kuster/kids/w... the other sites might give you somewhere to start. i just typed in "stuttering" and then "stuttering in different languages".
