Question for people who have had gastric bypass surgery....?!

Question: my mother had gastric bypass on wensday and spent the last 2 nights in the hospital with no food or drink,today she was told she can start drinking liquids(water,apple juice etc) Does that mean she can eat some type of soup? like chicken broth?

My wife had it they start them back on clear fluids and then full fluids in a few days it may take a little more time. Good luck to her my wife didn't do so well.
