Why is it in some European toilets they have a little shelf that your poo lands !

Question: I heard it was to inspect for worms! is this true?

Answers: I heard it was to inspect for worms! is this true?

It is a traditional German design, based on their perceived need to scrutinise their stool.

They are steadily being replaced by Crapper's finest, due to the need for water conservation.

What? R U serious?

And to avoid the stuff hitting the water pool with a splash and wet your privates.

lol - OMG - THANK YOU!!

I though I was the only one who thought that was strange. I first saw those toilets when I went to Germany on my School Exchanage trip about 10 years ago! I was very confused (and a little scared) by the design. The only purpose I can possibly imagine is for them to examine their stools. Very health consious those germans - hehe!

Germans in particular like to look at their poo before they flush
They are checking for blood or tapeworms and stuff

Well I haven't seen any like that here in Spain, but there again I don't make a habit of looking , yuk great question at lunch time lol

I have seen these in Germany, they like to study their stools to determine health issues. Worms, Bowel Cancer, whatever, - good idea.
