Answers: calcium malabsorption results in what type of prloblems?

Yes, you need 2:1 Calcium:Magnesium to absorb the calcium.

Calcium

eat a balanced diet and you get all you need without added supplements.

both are very important but the body needs about twice as much calcium as magnesium.

Calcium is more important as it is needed for the bone but little amount of magnesium is also needed

I just had surgery at MD Anderson and when I saw the internal doctor 2 weeks prior, my MAGNESIUM level was so low that I had to have a MAGNESIUM infusion for 4 hours and start a MAGNESIUM prescription 3 times a day. I had to have blood work done 3 more times to make sure my body was retaining it. Had it not, they would have had to have postponed my surgery for a couple of hours and infuse me again right before the surgery. Thank God my level was such that I didn't have to do that. He insisted that my doctor at home follow up on it. The range should be 1.8 to 2.9 mine was 0.8, he said it was "critical and as a matter of fact life threatening." MY SHORT...LOL....ANSWER WOULD BE MAGNESIUM, they should be used together to be most effective, however!
