Yes, all placentas look alike as far as I know. It looks like a piece of liver. The placenta takes nutrition from Mother's blood stream to feed the unborn fetus. Everything she takes into her body effects the baby, not the placenta. Once the baby is born the placenta is of no further use, and is discared.
