Why are so many people addicted to drugs?/How does taking drugs like cocaine mak!
Question: Alcohol is a drug like all the rest. And much more dangerous than even some that are illegal.
Its the same situation with that. Most people drink occasionally or socially and can keep it under control. And then there are people who are addicts and need help.
The fact that the drugs are illegal doesn't make them that much different from our socially acceptable drug.
People do it because its enjoyable. And some people can't handle things that are enjoyable because they take it overboard.
People who do the illegal drugs have a stigma just because all you ever hear about them is how they ruin their lives, lie and steal. You never hear about the countless people who do illegal drugs occasionally and still hold up a job, have a good family, completed college etc.
We accept that people that occasionally drink alcohol can do this but forget that alcoholics are just as bad off as people addicted to illegal drugs.

there are chemicals in the drugs that people find exciting to them. cocaine, for example, gives a huge energy burst and a rush.
its sad too because it causes brain damage that is not easily noticed to begin with.... they never "grow up" per say.
example - if they are 17 they always act like they are 17 even if they are 38. (had to deal with an "adult male" that way - we didnt last as a couple because the drugs were more important than food or housing.)
Something to do with the brain chemistry.Dopermine levels.Only thing is when you come down your even lower than ever.So you take again to feel high. After a while you would be taking them to feel half human again
