How can we help someone recover from a stomach operation?!

Question: physically

Answers: physically

follow doctor's advice. encourage the patient to do deep breathing and coughing exercises---place a pillow on his stomach let the patient hold it while he inhale deeply and then cough as tolerated. It is important that his cough should be forceful. This will help his stomach muscle to work/function and thus prevent any other complications from arising. He should also have a diet that he can tolerate. He should start with liquid diet, and next is soft-diet (foods that are semi-liquid and easy to chew like bouillon, soup, oat meal). Regular diet will follow once the patient's digestive system is functioning well. That's why, coughing exercises should be encouraged. This is somewhat painful. The pillow he hold against his stomach acts as a 'cushion' which will somehow lessen the pain and prevent the stitches from breaking when he coughs.

Ive been in hospital and loved the balloons but just take yourself for a visit its lovely to see people for a little while as you recover it makes you feel loved

Pray for them. Praying is the best thing to do.

"Dear Jesus, Please make [name] well again after his operation and help him to recover quickly, in the name of Jesus, amen."

ask them first! its very important!

food wise "soft" foods such as mashed potatoe (potatoe, butter, milk no salt or pepper) and a small amount of mild cheese if taste really is an issue, milk, bread and non salted butter, porridge, water... and whatever the doctor recommends.

Lifting and carrying wise, always ask first, even if you know what the answer is. It can make a world of difference just to be asked.

Dont go for meals out and dont go get drunk, it will only make them jelouse they cant drink.

remind them it will get better and easier for them.
