Are some people born with one kidney only instead of two?!
Question: My doctor suggested me to have ultrasound and it was found that I had only one kidney instead of two. They have told me that some people are born with just one kidney since birth. I can't believe this notion. Is this fact?

Yes, it happens (numbers as high as 1 in 750 births). It generally isn't a problem unless your one kidney goes bad. You can live a normal life with one kidney. The 1 drawback is that you should probably avoid contact sports, since that single kidney is larger/heavier than normal and is more prone to injury.
Take care of yourself! There is a slightly higher chance of developing high blood pressure and you should be monitored occasionally to make sure that sole kidney is in good shape.
my brother in law didnt find out until he was in his 50s that he had only one kidney and was also born like that
