A stupit question,, why do we FART??!
Question: Swallowing air when you eat and /or methanogens (bacteria that live in everyone's GI tract). Methanogens produce methane gas, that's why your farts have the ability to "light up" if near an open flame. Don't try it. Just take my word for it. :) So, besides burping and tasting it, some people fart and waste it :D
