How many pints of blood do you have to lose till you die?!

Question: I believe if you lose 4 pints then you are walking a fine line, but it really depends on how much you have... smaller people have less blood ofc.

So 4 pints to a small person might be fatal, but a giant person might not even miss it at all :P

8 in total of body in shock after 5

Me Personally, none, ice water runs through my veins.

all of them

I dont know but I'll ask my uncle Dracula

well I lost 5 and was saying my goodbyes. it was touch and go for a while but I'm still here

dont bother waiting to find out ,,stem the flow ,LOL.

I believe there is only 8 pints in total throughout your body.

Listen to Jacs.

1 in total

There are 10-14 units total, depending on size. Without documentation, 8 sounds like a pretty good bet in a small person.

Prompt fluid replacement thru an IV would greatly reduce the mortality rate.

that all depends as if you get a wound to the heart or inside your thigh near to groin and no medical help asap no good otherwise why ask

enough for you to die or pass out!!

I lost over 5 twice within 3 weeks and was told "death was knocking by the hospitial" so i would say about 5/6 in answer to your question. I think the average human body holds in excess of 7 or 8.

WELL THE AMOUNT OF BLOOD YOU HAVE DEPENDS A LOT ON SIZE. so lets just say you have 10 pints. When you lose blood, the body compensates by increasing blood pressure by narrowing the blood vessels and also by speeding up your heart. this can go on for a while but when you lose about ONE THIRD of your blood volume this compensation starts to quickly give up and unless you get i.v infusion to suppliment your loss it's all down hill from there!

after 3 most people would go into shock
