Osgood Schlatters...knee Problems?!

Question: I have Osgood Schlatters in my right knee (I found out around age 13 or 14). The doctor told me I would probably grow out of it, but whenever I put too much stress on that knee (as in too much walking or strenuous exercise), it hurts like hell. My problem is I don't think I grew out of it (I'm 17 now), as I am still having problems with it. Any suggestions as to how to deal with it, and how to make the pain go away?

I have it to and i was diagnosed with it at 14. I still have a ton of knee pain. But it has gotten better with strength training. I think at 17 you are still growing therefore it will continue. My doctor said it is caused from rapid growth that your muscle cannot keep up with. Do alot of knee and leg strengthening exercises and it should get better/
