Why would I wake up at 1 am.....?!

Question: (after going to bed at about 9:30) and puke? I woke up at 1 am and mere seconds after I woke up, I puked! It was sour liquid, and because of how I was laying, it came out my nose also. Which caused a small sneezing fit after I cleaned up from the puke ( which really wasn't that much but was still gross anyway). Does the fact that I have acid reflux have anything to do with that? I take Prilosec every day and that controls it. I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary yesterday... so whats up???

Yea, I get that too so my doctor switched me to Pantoloc 40 mg and it hasn't happened since. I have had major stomach surgery to correct this but it was still happening. You should also be tested for sleep apathy. When you stop breathing your stomach spews up all that acid and it can go into your lungs and cause phenomena. This is very serious and nothing to play around with. You can also choke to death.

It probably is your acid reflux. Be sure you elevate the head of your bed on bricks. It doesn't help to prop up on pillows cuz this folds you at the stomach. Don't eat within 3-4 hours of bedtime. Avoid chocolate, acidic things like oranges, tomatoes, etc. You may need to take your meds after dinner to help you make it through the night.

This can be a very dangerous situation. You should see your Dr. again and let him/her know what is going on.
