Is there a problem?!


Question: Everytime there are sudden noises, it makes me jump. Like, I shake in my seat (kind of like a startled reaction), and it feels like my heart just jumped out of my chest. I don't know when this started, but I wasn't like this before. Every Little sudden noise makes me jump (I don't scream or whatever, but it startles me EASY). For example, my parents can in the same room as me, and I'm doing my own thing, if they ask my a question all of sudden (when everything's quiet) I jump. Or..(don't laugh) the toaster. When the toast pops up, I flinch/twitch hard (if that's the right word). I even tell prepare myself and I Expect it to pop up at sometime but it still catches me off guard.

I tell myself I just let my guard down and have a weak heart .. but this isn't any kind of ..syndrome or .. whatever, right? I get very embrassed in public when something like that happens. I can't control it. Anyone have the same problem?

Well, I think it may be from anxiety. Someone who is responsive to everthing like that this may feel insecure or parnoid about something? Are you? I only ask because we have to first find what is triggering you to feel scared in your environment? In order to fix the problem. Also are you always thinking about other things at the moment or day dreaming? Deep thought can block everyone out and it can sometimes be startling when you suddenly hear something.

It sounds like you are thinking about it too much...
If you are waiting for it, and dont know when it is going to happen, you might be psyching yourself out...
